Shopping for Jeans…

Nov. 20th, 2008 at 6:04 PM

Mom handed me her Old Navy card and told me to exchange a furry-hoodie I wasn’t crazy about and to get a few things that I needed. I finally got over there and spent a few hours in the store. OMG, what a fucking nightmare. I wish I could have at least said that I was stalking the cute butch girl at the register, but nope. (If I had had Twitter, I would have tweeted about her… she was cute!)

In any case, I found a bunch of great shirts on clearance. What I thought was a bargain at $5 ended up being around $2 a piece. I love when that happens! To replace the hoodie, I grabbed a pretty dark grey hooded zip knit cardigan that just screams Mr. Rogers and then set about to find a pair of jeans. I tried two different kinds before saying ‘fuck it’ and heading over to the mens department. Every pair of women’s jeans made me feel like a cinched marshmallow. Uck. I had been curious to give men’s jeans a whirl anyhow, so I decided to see how well I could pull off the butch lesbian look. And of course I was licking my lips thinking of that hot chick from the front of the store while I was trying to pick jeans to try in the dressing room. I still can’t figure out why it was so farking difficult to pick out a pair… I mean, they only had 3-4 different options. *rolls eyes* Back and forth, in and out of the dressing room, different colors, sizes and styles, and about an hour and a half later, I marched myself out of the dressing room resolved to purchase the pair in my hands. (As a matter of fact, I was in and out and taking so long that their manager must have started to suspect I was trying to steal because he was following me and started making the dressing room attendant count my articles and hold onto things for me. LOL As if I could smuggle jeans in my running shorts? Give me a break! I was wearing my workout clothes… I didn’t even have POCKETS! *shakes head*) I ended up with a pair of loose fitting ones. I didn’t really like how the bootcut hugged my thighs, but I’m not entirely certain the fit is the same I was going for. :S I dunno. I really needed a shopping buddy, and actually, I had planned on asking for help. (Yes, I’m THAT dorky. LOL) In any case, I grabbed a belt, found a cute green and blue striped polo that had to be mine, and then headed up the register. Sadly, the cute chick was long gone. LOL
